2026
HAPPY 2026!
Hi all, Ross here wishing you Happy New Year! We hope everyone had a nice christmas and your winter has been good so far. For our friends out in the mountains we wish you the best snow and have a safe and awesome season! I'd like to start by saying sorry for being a little quiet on the social media front, it's been a pretty hectic winter for us with all sorts of projects alongside our busy normal working schedules. Part of my new years resolution is to become more productive and more engaging with our clients and supporters so I wanted to take the time to give an update on what we're up to and what to expect from 2026!
NEW COURSE AVAILABILITY
Firstly, I'm pleased to announce some new course availability for 2026. I've been doing a lot of private work with one of our partners The Snow Centre Hemel Hempstead to provide training for their operations team and instructors, so availability has been limited and I've not been able to put on as many public courses as I'd have liked. That said, I have mad a promise to myself and others that I would put some courses on over the next few months, so I've managed to sort availability and the courses are now available to book, more info can be found at www.practicalskill.co.uk/dates.
COMPANY NEWS
In other news we have been having a revamp of our "HQ" which means everything has been a bit up in the air, but things are finally starting to come together and we're getting a bit more order restored! I am also currently updating some aspects of our website and terms and conditions, which I will email out to everyone on our mailing list when it is complete. We've also had to make a tough decision this year, as I've mentioned to many of you I love to make our courses available and affordable for everyone. Although this will always be my philosophy, this year we will have to slightly increase our prices, but I will also make a promise - new course content and better course delivery. I'm always taking on board your feedback, and those of you that know me will understand I do this to provide the best quality training I can, and this will help me to achieve that. We also have plans to create new online content potentially a new members area where you will have access to learning resources and online advice.
SURVIVAL FIRST AID COURSE
Finally I'm also pleased to announce some new courses and
training sessions which are currently in the pipelines! Some of you may
be aware I have always been a bit of a survival enthusiast, and I've
always wanted to do more training for outdoor activities not just
limited to snow! This summer I will be introducing a new "Survival First Aid" course which
will focus on first aid outdoors and goes more in-depth into the
survival elements and how to handle when a first aid situation becomes
more of a survival situation when help is not coming.
More details will
be released over the next couple of months so watch this space!
All the best,
Ross.
